camaro/firebird dash
hello, does anyone know if the inner dash on camaro and firebird are interchangable. i have a firebird with no dash and a ton of camaro parts cars. wonder if the main dash is interchangable. thanks

Others have swapped the whole entire dash (with wiring) completely out and have made it work. (Firebird into Camaro so the reverse would be possible) Some have said there are some minor differences in how earlier cars and later cars dashes actually bolted up but they have been made to work.

i have pictures of how the mountings are different. my 85 has a stud on the top mount and my 92 is flat mounted with a keeper. to switch older into new you trim the stud mounted area with a dremel then dill a hole from the top so you can get a bolt to thread in

I have a Camaro with a Firebird dash. It uses the Camaro HVAC box that mounts to the fire wall. The upper mounts in the car were cut off and the lower ones were replaced to meet the new dash.
I have a picture here before I had the correct shift plate/console lid and the map pouch thingy on the passenger side.
