Alternate to 4th gen interiors

Has anyone ever incorporated parts of older generation cars into their third gens? some ideas I had were the 68-69 automatic horseshoe shifter or the small door grab handles to clean up the door. if things from the future look good maybe there are some things we can bring back from the cars past.

Just a thought

If I wasn't going to put a manual trans in when I do a V8 swap I had thought about the old auto shifters you mentioned. The only real problem I see is that that is a three speed shifter and you need the 4 speed gate plate to put in. They are made but I forget by whom. (It was mentioned on this site somewhere.) When I checked it was priced at $200. You might be able to make one or modify one from another shifter. Other mods would be necessary but could be managed. I have at least one of those shifters (from an Impala SS) put up in my work shop.
I am sure that there are other ideas that would be nice to see done.
