Uhhh...CD players weren't available from the factory until the 1989 model year. If you're looking at an 87 with a CD player, it's been added.

I had thought the same thing and double checked my 87 dealership catalog. The top of the line radio was a Bose; cassette. All lesser options were cassette as well.

Yeah I had an 87 iroc with the top of the line bose cassette player in it, no cd player.
Thanks Guys, thats what I thought, Now next question what does the 89 CD player look like? Maybe this is one of those?? Is it worth anything? Rare or not?

Here's an 89 CD player. Rare, not really sure.

The Pontiac version looks a little different than the one pictured , I know because my car came from the factory with one.

Guy has been trying to sell this for a while now. Claims it's a factory 86-89 Ta/GTA.
Edit: I saved the pictures in case they've disappeared

I know I'm showing my age here, but there were CDs in 1987?

Look at the wiring for this one. That unit is at least 1989. In 88 and older they used didfferent pigtails. I am pretty sure 1989 was the first year the CD was offered for the "F" bodies.

In fact, I just checked. I have the same unit in the garage. I think it came out of a 91 or 92 4 door Pontiac. Junk yard - $25.
I have that same unit too.Pulled from a 1993 Bonneville. It even had the factory instruction cd with it
