1969 camaro Shifters

Sooo...
Unsure as to whether i should post this here or in transmission/ drive train but, I am wondering if anyone has come across a 1969 Camaro style shifter that would work with a 700r transmission.

My design for my interior would look much nicer with one, or throttle linkages from a large jet, but would like to save myself the fab time on modifying a set of those.

Re: 1969 camaro Shifters

i must admit i'm not sure what a 69 camaro shifter looks like . but after being a licensed A&P (airframe & powerplant) mech. for over 40 years . i maintained all types of acft. from jet fighters to passenger/cargo acft. . forget about the acft. throttles . i would just not fit , would look way out of place . good luck .

Re: 1969 camaro Shifters

Yeah I'm actually in the middle of my ATO (approved training organization) classes for my AME (aviation maintanence engineer) license. (I'm assuming that its the Canadian version? either way I know we use the same texts)

any how here is a picture of a 69 shifter

and a throttle linkage like this

(as I said alot of fabbing would be required for this one...)
mounted into an aircraft aluminum console (that goes with my aluminum dash I'm building for the car) also in the dash will be several aircraft gauges, compass and etc,

Re: 1969 camaro Shifters

There is a 4sp auto shift detent made for that shifter though I do not remember who makes them. I have several of those shifters in my odd parts boxes. Several years ago I had seen a post about this and checked into the price. Then the price I got was $200 and I temporarily passed. I now have a T56 but still think that style shifter would be a good unique way to put a better looking shifter in. Keep us updated. I will try to find the old post on this.

Re: 1969 camaro Shifters

I found the old posts. Search horseshoe shifter. One titled Shifter Change? has the link for the shifter detent for that shifter and it is currently about 118.
The other Horseshoe Shifter has some pics but none are finished.
