looking for help,I have a 82 z28,I put a rebuilt 700r4 tranny in it and am using the stock 3spd auto shifter,my problem is I cannot shift the trans manually from 1st to 2nd,it does it automaticly by itself,from 2nd on up I can shift by myself,do I need to get a 4spd auto shifter and all the brackets and hardware from a 4spd auto 3rd gen?

 

At this point I would get the B&M shifter that's made foe the 3rd gen with a 700R4. I was in a Camaro that the 700R4 was swaped out for a 350TH, but had the stock shifter in it. You could not pull it back into 1st gear. OD was drive, D, was 2 and 2 was 1st LOL!
