I got a nearly perfect headliner out of a trans am but the thing about it the headlner fabric is gold im doing a black interior swap imwondering how hard is it to put new fabric an not ruin the cardboard material

 

You have to scrape the old foam off. When I did mine, the foam had a plastic back on it that was really fighting me to come off. You may want to give it a coat of resin to strengthen it up. I had mine recovered by a local shop after cleaning it up because it was a t top headliner and the corners were scaring me a bit.

 

Ahhhh ic well i have a hardtop so corners an flimzy wont be a problem where can i get a foam fabric material from to redo it

 

1A sells it. You can even get it at a local fabric store like Joann's if you have one in your area.

 

That is awesome i thought u could only get interior fabric for cars from like a interior shop ill def go to Johann's tonight an grab the fabric
