Kind of a bad pic but thats what I need my car is a 1989 firebird formula with the security key so if anyone has one or knows where i can get one im in need.

I got the car for a $100 and the kid that had it before me treated it like a punching bag he would jump over the door into the car with the t tops off and he broke the steering column up pretty bad the junk yards around me suck the only place that has it wants me to buy the whole column for $200 so I dont really wanna go that route

Disassemble the column in the yard and bring him the plastic piece. Cant really ask more than about 10$ for that. Unless of course you live in one of those places that wont let you in the yard to get your own ****....

That's the way to go, whether you want to or not. Tilt columns are tricky to take apart and reassemble. If you don't do it just right you can lock it up while you are on the freeway and kill yourself.

Then there are the electrical issues.

I repaired the tilt column in my 90 Vette once, the way you want to fix yours. Lots of C-clips and tiny plastic parts, took way longer than I thought to reassemble. The steering didn't feel smooth until I went ahead and replaced the whole column.
