Outer window sweep holes not lining up
Hi,
As part of my paint job I am replacing the outer window sweeps with really nice ones from Hawks. Only problem is that some of the holes do not line up right. Since the bolts that came out are self-tappers can I re-drill them or is that a stupid idea that will somehow lead to a universe ending paradox?

common problem , when installed at factory they just "eyeballed" & moved down assy. line . install everywhere you can . hot glue may be your friend up front near the "triangle" . worked for me , painted 3yrs. ago . good luck .

Re: Outer window sweep holes not lining up
As said above, seems to be a common problem, some line right up,and some need a little work.
Mine were only off a bit,so I just slotted the holes a little bit.If you have to re drill, it wont hurt anything, just make sure the holes aren't bigger than the screw heads.

Re: Outer window sweep holes not lining up
When I replaced my sweeps with a unknown aftermarket brand a couple of the holes also did not line up.
I just punched new holes where needed to match the factory holes.
I also punched and drilled a new hole near the rear of the
door to better secure the end of the new sweeps.
They look and fit just fine......................
Just take your time and measure and test fit TWICE and drill once!

Re: Outer window sweep holes not lining up
same thing happened to me. I used some 3m tape in a couple sections in the middle. The holes on the ends lined up.

Re: Outer window sweep holes not lining up
I just drilled new holes.
The factory used self-taping screws that is why they are not the same.
I would not use glue or tape
