gauges dont work!

Car: 1989 camaro RS convertible
Engine: 305 TBI stock
Transmission: 700-r4
Axle/Gears: 2.73
gauges dont work!
i have an 89 camaro rs and i just added the white faced gauges and now suddenly my speedometer and tachometer are not working but the other gauges all work fine. is it possible that i ended up breaking something while messing with the needles? i tried to be gentle
