NEED HELP ASAP PLEASE (TRUNK LATCH)

hi the motor on my trunk latch has been running non stop and it is stuck in the down position. I got it to move once by pushing the motor to the side to make the gear catch but that stopped working. I took the motor apart and then took the whole thing off the tracks. I feel like I shouldn't have done this and just made more work for myself. can someone please help me this is my daily driver and want to fix this before it rains. the battery is disconnected right now so the motor wont burn out.

Re: NEED HELP ASAP PLEASE (TRUNK LATCH)

There is a switch that needs to get flipped when the motor goes up/down. If the adjustment is wrong the switch won't get flipped and the motor won't shut off. Or, if the gears are stripped, the mechanism won't move far enough to flip the switch. As said topdownsolutions has parts. Or folks selling units on the board.
