Hey everyone, I recently bought a 1983 Camaro Z28, I decided to rip the whole interior out to check for any rust that needed to be fixed.
Now that I am finally putting the car back together I can't get the Gauge cluster to fit back into the dash...
When I bought the car they weren't bolted to the dash, just kinda sitting there.
So... Do the V6 and V8 gauges not fit the same? Or is there like a bracket or something I am missing? Thanks in advance...

 

All clusters in Camaros from 82-89 are the same as far as I know. There are two studs that the cluster slide over. These two studs protrude through the white square sockets below the gauges where the idiot lights would reside. Look to see if that helps any!

 

Thanks, but the gauges don't even seem to line up with those studs, theyre just little plastic ones right? But the whole cluster seems like it doesn't really want to fit in the hole.

 

can you post some pics, maybe your missing something that is not obvious? the studs that line up are metal as far as I recall.

 

Ok sure, all I really have is the main dashboard and the cluster. If the studs are metal, it kinda sounds like I am missing something. Except Ill have to figure out the picture uploading
