Sorry if this is obvious to everyone but myself. Does a '91 RS Camaro have a speedometer cable? I'm selling my son's '91 Camaro and the speedo works only after warming up (it's kinda' hard to sell if the speedometer doesn't work when the next person goes to get it inspected). I just went to the pains of removing the dash, headlight switch, all the stuff underneath the dash, and the instrument panel and voila!, no speedo cable. Am I missing something here? If there is no speedo cable does this point to a problem in the transmission (700R4, IIRC)? And if so, what would need to be done?

No the 90 to 92 don't use a cable they are electronic I believe is the best way to put it. And as far as your not working there is a small piece that goes bad you can do a search and find how to repair one good luck.
