Triple pillar pod and gauges

I am wanting to put a triple pillar pod in my car with some gauges. I have a Autometer triple pod in my truck (slip over that attaches to the factory pillar) and love it and haven't had any issues in four years. Are the Autometer pods the same way for these cars and also slip over to factory pillar and attach with small push pins?

Also, which gauges should I run in the pod. I have a cammed up LS3 with a T56 in my car. Oil pressure and volt work just fine on the factory cluster. The temp is a sometimes gauge as the sensor I have for the engine for the factory gauge is iffy.
I am thinking a temp gauge in the pod, but what else is recommended?

Lets see some pics of pillar pods and what you have for gauges as well!

Re: Triple pillar pod and gauges

They are the same

I wouldnt trust 20+ year old oil gauge personally. I have Vac , Fuel pressure , and RPM / shift light in mine. Rest are in the dash or under the vents

Re: Triple pillar pod and gauges

I have a double pod but it is still great. Stock oil pressure went out years ago, had an electric one for a while but it always bounced around and didn't read well and now have a mechanical oil pressure in the pod. Similar to 6SIX6 I have a tach as well but with a 5,000 RPM warning light instead of shift lights, these cars have terrible tachs that never read right (I'm lucky that mine is only 1,000 RPM's off ) so it is nice to see what is really going on there.

You can also do A/F mix, Trans oil temp( not sure if its as critical as it is for a T-56 as it is for automatics), etc... If you can't find a good 3rd gauge you can always do a pod cap until you have a new gauge, or do a 2" clock in there. Best of luck!
