Yes and no. There were two styles of pull-down unit used in 1991. Early 91 models used a pull-down with a metal frame (where it attaches to the car body). Late 91 they switched to a smaller and much lighter version with a tan-colored plastic frame (where it attaches to the car body). If you have the late 91, then you could get a slam-latch from a late 91-92 convertible. There is no slam-latch made that will fit the earlier style pull-down unit that was used from 1986-early 91. However, that won't stop you from converting yours to a manual slam-latch. I've seen many in the pick-a-part yards that were converted by their owners using drywall screws, baling wire, chewing gum, popsicle sticks, etc.

However as an alternative, you could always repair yours. I sell all the parts to repair these pull-down units.

I have you covered any way you wish to get it repaired. I sell the parts along with the instructions so handy car owners can do the repair themselves and save on labor. I have offered to diagnose and repair customers hatch pull-down units. I also sell refurbished hatch pull-down units which include a 1 year warranty.

Wow, I just used a visegrip needle nose plier to trap the travel and had to slam it. Of course I had a spare needle nose plier in case.
