No hatch release switch

I cant find a hatch release switch inside my 89 camaro RS. Does it not have one or was it removed for some reason?

Re: No hatch release switch

It was an option, so sounds like yours doesn't have it.

Re: No hatch release switch

Anyone know how much of a pain it would be to wire one up? I have the latch pull down but not the trunk release just the blank button on the dash.

Re: No hatch release switch

The hatch release switch is located on the center console in between the power window switches, if you have power windows or not. Its possible the car is already wired for it. The connector for the switch might be there under the panel where the switch would go and the wiring might be there where the pull down latch is at. If not, it really wouldn't be that hard to wire up a hatch release with the factory solenoid on the pull down latch.
