hey everyone! i just got my hands on a 91 rs with 102k auto 305 tbi. and the third brake light doesn't work but the bulb is intact. the cruise control also doesn't work. turned it into the on position and pressed the button and nothing happened. ive searched on here but don't see a solution on where to start. thanks for any advice!

 

1991-92 third brake lights are notorious for lens cracks and broken bulb housings since they're aimed directly at the sun. All the ones I've seen are pretty brittle at this point. Have you removed the access panel and taken a look at the housing to make sure it's still attached?

 

actually everything is in pretty good shape and intact.

 

Normally when the brake switch goes bad the brake lights stay on.
