Need help identifying a connector under dash
I had to remove my interior to install my cage.
I have one connector under the drivers side dash that I don't know what it is or where it connects to.
Its a 2 pin connector, green and purple wire. The wires are thicker than the other wires too.

Thanks for your help!

That's not the rear defroster connector. It's the clutch safety switch. It allows current to the starter when the clutch pedal is depressed. If you've got an automatic, it's the neutral safety switch. Not sure where it connects to as I've got a manual trans, but I think it goes on the gear shift lever.

That's not the connector for the neutral/park safety switch on an automatic car. Did you convert your car from manual to automatic?

I tried looking and can't see where it connects to.
Can someone snap a pic or look under their drivers side dash to see where it connects to?

IIRC the later Firebirds were wired for auto or stick from the factory.
If you can start and drive your car normally just tuck it back under the dash & leave it.

It is definitely the clutch safety switch. It looks just like the one in my camaro. If you look at the diagram posted above, it shows the clutch switch is wired in parallel with the neutral safety switch. Since you've got an automatic, you can just tuck it away under the dash. I'd put some electrical tape over the end, just so it doesn't cause a short.

Re: Need help identifying a connector under dash
Im in the midst of swapping my 700r4 to a tko600.
And John is correct. I have read that later cars were wired for both. Lucky you! I have to run mine from the shifter to the pedals, not tough but i wouldve loved to have the $15 pig tail sitting there already haha.
