Okay guys so I installed the b&m megashifter on my 1985 trans am that has power windows and mirrors... my QUESTION IS how much or what exactlybshould I be cutting on the top plate??? I screwed up when cutting my original plate so I had to spend $50 on a good one that came with all new switch. Now before I go loko and start cutting this bad boy I need advice from someone who has done a CLEAN install before on a trans am. Pics would be much appreciated if anyone knows deminsions that would be a life saver as well. I am actually repairing my center console vinyl because of the common pelling away from the plate area right now while I wait for the new plate to come in the mail. I justvwant to cut this so it looks really good in there please any help or any recommendations would be great thanks a millions all.

 

I have seen a lot of clean install pics of trans am and birds with power Winders and mirrors with the megashifter so I know someone on here has had to do it. Come on brothers what's the secret?

 

Did you get the "standard" Megashifter, or the console model specific for the Third Gen cars?
I'm going to take a wild guess that the majority of the clean installs you have seen were with the model specific variant, which would require no cutting.

 

might be a good idea to make a template first out of cardboard, plastic, aluminum, etc. get it to fit perfect, then copy/transfer your marks to the new piece.

Winders was a joke on purpose.... I purchased the console megashifter that is specific for 82-92 our cars.

 

You still have to cut the console megashifter in the birds. Its a direct fit for camaros but it takes a little modification for trans am and birds.
