speedo help.
Well iv got a new issue. About a month ago I fixed my speedo so it worked. Put new gears in, new metal housing. Ect. Well the other day going to work I noticed that as I cruise, my speedometer bounces back and forth from like 10 mph. As iv driven it. Its gotten worse to where it will just drop off. But if im taking off, it registers fine until I cruise. Help?

Re: speedo help.
My guess is the speedo gears........ Pull the speedo sending unit off and inspect the plastic gears for busted / or worn teeth.
The DRIVE gear (one on the tailshaft ) could have slippped off the clip or the DRIVEN gear you installed might not have been the correct gear for the speedo sending unit you used. The number of teeth the speedo sending unit can accomodate is pressed into the plastic on the VSS.

Re: speedo help.
I hope not since
Like I said I just replaced the driven gear and housing. I did notice that if I stay in town it does it more, but I went on an 80 miles cruise yesterday and it did it for the first few miles but they stopped until the car sat again. I researched and talked to the placed and they said I Vought the correct driven gear for my drive gear and my axle ratio. I went to patc.performance automatic transmission center. I originally had a vss speedo fear housing and driven gear and they did strip so I got ahold of patc To male sure I got the right stuff .

Re: speedo help.
It's a common problem that happens when the speedo cable is loose or needs to be lubricated (on mechanical speedo cars at least). Could try that if your car has a mechanical speedo

I got a whole new 115 cluster so I'll lube and clean the cable when I switch it out.
