REPLACEMENT OR DASH PAD OVERLAY?

Anyone tried to cap the old cracked dash pad with the overlay cap? I had a dodge truck once that had it done and never knew it until I was told but the guy who installed it. Looked great! Just curious if anyone has done it on their Camaro? Show pics if you have.

Re: REPLACEMENT OR DASH PAD OVERLAY?

The pics of ones that I have seen were not very good. Might have been the ones I've seen though. I went with replacement on mine even though it was pricey. There is a thread on here where someone took off the stock cover and recovered with leather. Looks great imo.

Wish I had the option!
GM made my dash pad too long -- quality control ----
One of these days I gotta pull the trigger and get a new one I guess

Re: REPLACEMENT OR DASH PAD OVERLAY?

I have not seen an aftermarket cover yet that I was even close to pleased with. Buying an NOS or aftermarket replacement isn't cheap, they know they aren't easy to come by.

I used a overlay on my TA,you can't tell that it was an overlay.I have since replaced it with a good stock pad because the overlay was for the 82-84 design. Here's a pic.of the overlay.
