Absent front kick panel carpet on 92 Z28's?

Absent front kick panel carpet on 92 Z28's?
Just curious if anyone knows the answer to this....
I've been looking at some 92 Z28's and noticed some don't have carpet on the kick panels. Is there a reason why some don't have it? Are they absent possibly just with the leather option?

Carpeted panels is an option, not all cars have it. It was part of a deluxe interior package.

Very true! All 3 of my Z28s in the past had the carpet, all were cloth interior. My 92 Z28 had the carpeted Bose speaker rear cargo bay lid and no carpet on the rear gray plastics.
The black ext w/gray leather int 92 Z28 I looked at yesterday had the missing kick panel carpet but did have the RPO B18 code for "Ornamentation, Intr, Delux". Thought that code would cover em!

I Have Standard Vinyl Interior And They Are Carpeted.

The kick panels carpeting was independent from the deluxe carpeting option for the rest of the car. There may be an RPO for it, or it might have been part of certain interior packages, but I have seen no rhyme or reason to the variation of carpeted kick panels except that they seem more common on earlier third gens.
