Fiber board T Top

Any thoughts on recovering the boards outer skin.I screwed up putting the new material on so I tried to remove it and it peeled some of the boards coating off,not a lot, just enough to P me off.I was thinking of just mixing up some fiberglass resin and coating it with that, less the fiber.Any Ideas

Franny - I had the same issue and simply peeled an entire layer off until everything was even. Then I went over it with a layer of fiberglass cloth and resin. I was worried about it getting too heavy so I only went 1 layer. It turned out very strong and the weight was negligible.

Thanks Vince,,I didn't know if I'd ruin it or not doing that but I'll give that a try 1st.It only peeled where you see in the pic.I think I'll peel off just the front and stop at where it turns to the center bar.(both sides of the front)and go from there. Thanks a lot.

I did the same thing, mine was broken in a few places, after I fiberglassed it, it was very strong, I did both sides too.

Re: Fiber board T Top

I did what you suggested Vince, but I only cleaned up half, got it nice and smooth.

But I only fiber glassed the back in the weak spots, the hardener/Resin was turning into jello in the cup after like 5 minutes.

Nice and sturdy now.

Re: Fiber board T Top

Yeah you need to mix up small batches.
You should be good if it is strong.
