I have a 83 Firebird SE which is my manual donor car and it has a 160 MPH speedo is this unusual?

I've removed the instrument cluster from the 83 Firebird SE here are a couple of pictures

Looks like it was recalibrated with a new face plate.

Interesting. I've never seen one that went to 160.

as mentioned in reply #2,that is aftermarket recalibration/face replacement(looks like thin plastic overlay)of original 85 mph speedo.The tri-color grid under the RPMx100 is interesting-almost looks like a stack of rectangular LEDs.

The way the light is shining on the speedo makes it look like the tacho face does not match the speedo ,but it does,i've never seen a tacho with a coloured block design like this

I have now removed the 160 MPH speedo from the cluster and fitted it in my 84 Trans Am cluster.

Looks good man.... do u know if the 82-84 speedos fit and work in 85 TA's??? Im tryin to find out because the 85mph speedo thats in it tops out quik and just dosnt do it for me.... any help by anybody will help me out thanks guys

as far as i know the mechanical spedo will work for all 82 to 85

Hell yea man now just gota track one down its crazy iv been lookin for a few days and still cant find one for the right price... hawks got a 160mph but want $200 for it and then ebay only has one I can find and its the whole clusters which I dont really need just need speedo and he want like $315 something like that its crazy how few there are out there

It's the first one that I have seen ,But I am in the UK so there are not that many Firebirds/Trans Ams over here anyway
