Which year(s) and model(s) work for my seatbelt?
My driver seatbelt buckle reciever is FUBAR, anyway are thirdgens the only model that would work? If I pull one from a for example 1996 firebird work also? Given it's an F body also? It's rare to find a thirdgen in my local junkyards. Can anyone recommend me some models and years (circa) to replace my seatbelt receiver buckle?

You might be able to repair it. If the little plastic sleeve that is supposed to keep it upright is broken, then there is probably nothing you can do. I was able to purchase a new seat-belt buckle receiver several years back, so you might be able to find another one. They have a different part number for the 1992 receivers (that was still available), But they appear to be the same.
If it is the button part, you can actually get pieces and parts to repair them, it is a kit that includes 4 buttons, and 4 springs, it is easy to do.

All 83-92 seat FRONT seat belts are the same. 82 and 93-02 were the 'same.'
I literally just got done installing a complete set of 02 belts, front and rear, in my 84. Easy to do but the sill plates will look funny until I get ahold of a set of 82s.
Hope this helps

Firebird parts should work.

Re: Which year(s) and model(s) work for my seatbelt?
I just did the 4th gen belt swap. I have found that 95-96 seatbelts do not work, they are bigger. I got belts out of a 96 bird and the only receivers that will work with those belts is from a 95 and 96 sunfire/cavalier (passenger side only). However, the 93-94 and 97ish to 02 work fine. 4th gen receivers do not work in 3rd gens because they bolt to the floor and not the tunnel.
When looking for recievers these will work

these will not

Note the difference in the button. Both pics are fro a Cavalier/Sunfire.
