Dash Lights

For the dash lights in my 92 Camaro RS, when I pull the switch for the lights, none of my lights for my gauges light up or even the backlight for the radio. Now I've done some research and based on the symptoms, my guess would be that it is the dimmer switch that is faulty.
If it helps any, some nights I can turn on my car and the lights and the dash will light up but after riding for a while, they go out.
So basically, what would be my best bet on fixing it? Whether it be as simple as a fuse or just to go ahead and replace the switch?

Re: Dash Lights

if your fuse was bad the lights would never work, you either have a bad switch, its dirty, or you have a bad wire somewhere

i would buy some electronic cleaner, take the headlight switch out, spray it with the cleaner and turn the ****, the switch is a simple pull/push(on/off) style switch with a potentiometer that controls brightness, if the potentiometer part is worn or dirty your dash lights arent going to function correctly

if cleaning it doesnt work then replace it
