Automatic shifter rebuild
Can the shifter ***** for an automatic be rebuilt? My button is getting sticky and doesn't always come all the way back out. I have to pull on the button for the car to allow me to get it into Park. I saw a shifter spring available on Modern Day Muscle, but I'm not sure if that spring is from the handle or from down in the shifter itself.

Re: Automatic shifter rebuild
Figured it out. Once removed, you can see another staple under the button hat can be pulled out. The button then slides right out. My spring was broken. Easy fix. Modern Day Muscle has them in stock for $2.

Re: Automatic shifter rebuild
Does anybody have the part number for that spring inside the automatic shifter ****? For whatever reason, MDM's website is not working for me and I can't seem to find that spring anywhere else.

Re: Automatic shifter rebuild
I rebuilt mine last year, none of the pieces were broken though.
May I suggest you look for the spring in another handle. Cause even if you stick a spring in there, if its not the right one, you'll have a problem at an inconvenient time.

Re: Automatic shifter rebuild
Don't want to use used parts which is why I was asking if there was a GM part number.
