Re: door handle replacement.
You could go to your local big box parts store like Pep Boys/Autozone etc.
Look in the HELP/Dorman section. They have them there for around $25 bucks.
Easy DIY install!

Same thing happened to me. The interior handle assembly is available, just do a internet search and they are not that expensive. Installation is strait forward.

Re: door handle replacement.
I just rebuilt both doors on my IROC and changing the door handles isn't too bad of a job, but if you have big hands and forearms like me, you are going to find every sharp object in there while doing it; just keep a band aid or two on hand when you do it.

Re: door handle replacement.
Watch the torx bolts on the door panel, not all are actual screws and they look like crap after the plastic is stripped out.
You'll need a t-15, a long shaft T-30 (iirc), and a door panel separator may help.
Roll down the window part way, put upward pressure on the door panel to affect the upper rail, and then lightly smack the upper rail inward to release. The upper rails are typically brittle so be careful.
Edit: You may be able to replace it without pulling the door panel but the info is there if you need it.
