Need ideas for additions on my Camaro 88' RS

I bought a 1988 Camaro sports coupe RS a few days ago. 45K miles , only problem is a leak in the exhaust system.

The sound system isnt where i want it to be , and i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on where i can put some speakers in the car, and which types would be ideal.

Also , i encountered a problem yesterday, while tinkering with the AC ***** , i went from the MAX option to the HTR option, which is right before the windshield defroster option i did this is a rather fast manner , And the engine made a noise , and shut off. It continued to crank but kept shutting off for a while , now it seems to be okay. I was wondering if anyone has encountered this before ?

Congrats on the purchase.

For the audio recommendations, I would check out the audio portion of the forum. Lots of pictures of what people have done. The main issue with our cars with respect to audio, they have terrible speaker placements stock. The dash has a 4x6, and the rear a 6x9.

What I did, was built kickpods to hold a 6.5 and tweeter. Then built a custom fiberglass box for the subs.

but if you don't want to go all out like that, you can find stock sized replacements. Just keep in mind they are only 4x6s

I know right ? It seems like the car wasn't made to have a good system. Thanks for your advice, i have a new amp but don't know much about speakers. Would putting the amp in do anything ?

The speakers you built in the second picture , how could i get some similar to that ? What type and how much trouble to install them ?

Also , i apoligize for my ignorance on the subject, this is my first car and it took a while to save up for it ( I'm rather young ) and im just now learning how to work with cars

The kickpods?

Check out the link in my sig, I have a tutorial on how to build them.
Overall, it a medium difficulty job. Those are the first ones I ever did, and I think they turned out pretty good.
