Hi all

I need some help from somebody that knows how to cut/trim the headliner in order to install an overhead console in a t-top car.
My car before has not an upper console, just the standard light.

See the pictures below for the cuts I made today.

Im encountering many problems since the headliner right now is pretty thicker that the original, since new fabric was glued onto to re-cover it. This causes difficult to plug-in the four plastic upper console hooks into the screws because of the thickness.

I think I could resolve trimming more fabric, but I dont know if this is correct. Trimming too much could weaken the healiner maybe.

Question is: how big do I have to make that headliers holes, or more generally, how do I have to trim the headliner?

so it's pretty solved. Any advice is well accepted however, expecially is the cuts that the dude did are not optimal/correct

did you cover the original fabric with new fabric?
