Rear glove box broken hinge, repair 82 Trans Am
Rear glove box broken hinge, repair 82 Trans Am
Found a way to repair a broken plastic hinge on the rear glove box.
After removing the door, Ipurchases a 12" x 1 1/16" piano hinge from Menards for $5.00.
I cut the hinge to the length of the broken plastic hinge from the glove box.
The bottom holes lined up with the existing holes on the interior trim panel. I
Drilled three holes and riveted the top half of the hinge to the BACK side of the glove box door. I then rivered the bottom hinge to plastic trim panel using 1/8" rivets.
Then a little black paint (krylon semi gloss) and I was done. Works perfect and will last longer than the original plastic hinge.
See the final pixs below.
