Do I need new door lock actuators?
My door locks are so weak that they won't fully lock or unlock. The switch works in that it provides enough power to make them "try" to lock or unlock. But they just won't move the whole range of motion. I've read everything I can find in these forums. Virtually all the extended threads talk about cleaning and lubing everything in the door lock system and that solves the problem in many cases. Hasn't helped me. I haven't really found any threads that talk in detail about how likely or how often the problem is the actuator. Obviously they must fail at times. But since so many people talk about cleaning and lubing Im just wondering how common it is for the actuator itself to go bad. If I disconnect the rods my actuators fly back and forth with great vigor. But they are still not strong enough to do the job.
The one thing I have not replaced yet is the relay. Could a relay cause weakness like this? Or is a relay an all or nothing sort of failure?

Well if you get to yours before I repost here please let me know. I hope to try a new relay this weekend. but I snagged the replacement relay from a Pick n Pull so who knows if it is working correctly. I don't know much about electrical. Can anybody tell me, does a relay get weak or is it a fully function or total fail thing?
