Help needed

I'll admit I don't know a thing when it comes to wheels and tires. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

When I bought my 88 IROC, it had ugly rally wheels with Goodyear Eagle GT II tires. The previous owner gave me a set of wheels from a 92 Camaro. I am now looking to install those onto my 88, but having difficulties finding the right size tire. They have P285/60R16 tires on them now, and I can't find those ANYWHERE. I tried looking up the stock size for the 92, but then it'll telling me that they're not compatible with my 88.

I know this is probably stupid, but I am lost. I can provide any other information needed. I am attaching a picture of the wheels in case they really aren't from a 92

. Thank you in advance.

Re: Help needed

John, you want a 245/50-16 tire.

That thing looks like a truck tire! For future reference you can always go to tirerack.com and look up your year/model and you will get stock sizes.

Re: Help needed

I was recommend the Sumitomo HTR ZII tires on tirerack. I like them and the price is low because they're being discontinued. I just wasn't sure of what size to get.

Do you know if these wheels will fit on my 88 without any issues and without spacers?

Thank you for your help!

Re: Help needed

In what size? They aren't even listed on tirerack.com in anything smaller then a 17" tire. Those are summer only tires, I would hope you don't drive your Camaro in winter in PA with those tires on.

The wheels will fit fine as long as there 2 front/2 rears or 4 fronts.

You really should but some research time in so you know what you need and buy correctly the first time.

Yeah, I am trying to do as much research as I can at the moment. I don't drive the car unless it's completely dry out. Will keep looking, thank you for your help again.

Re: Help needed

Check out BFgoodrich G-Force Sport Comp-2 in 245/50-16 for a very good summer set of tires. Just keep reading, I learned a lot of what I know from reading car forums through the years.

Tirebuyer is cheaper normally with free shipping if you have them delivered to a installer plus they take 20 bucks off your order.
