Seat belt light

Hi,
The seat belt light in my car stay on more than the "8 seconds" when it suppose to go off. Every now and then, it will shut off while driving, but rarely happens. The service manual says that the light only ( not the buzzer) is control by the ignition switch and the timer. Does any of you have the same problem? Or have a suggestion in how I might fix this? Where the timer might be?

Any help is appreciated!

Re: Seat belt light

It should go out when you clip on the seat belt & stay off, unless you unbuckle it.I think it stays on for a few seconds when you start the car, then the light & buzzer shut off, 6 sec sounds about right.
