Does anyone know where I can get the metal trim plate that fits to hold the boot down? I had to get a shifter plate from a 1988 Firebird unfortunately there was no plate to keep the boot from shifting back and forth.

I checked out a shift plate I've had around for quite a while and it still has the boot, but it's attached to a plastic frame that the ends of the boot are seated on. Is that the part you're looking for?

 

Yes, thats it. I got a used shifter plate, but it had no boot and mine was of a different year and they changed it over. It came from an 88 model T/A and my 89 had the ones they started using in 90-92. I liked the used one bought because the letters on the shifter glow red at night to match my factory gauges.
