Hatch won't close completely
I replaced the pull down motor it works great it goes up and down fine. The thing is it won't close the trunk all the way so that its flush. When i close the trunk itll pull down and wont finish the process I'll hear a loud sound sorta like a jackhammer but it just won't close completely. I have to hear the damn thing squeak while driving down the road.
Any advice or a simple fix would be appreciated.

Have you tried to lower the assembly a little? If that does not work, it sounds like the gear may be starting to strip.

Yea ive messed with it like that just can't get it to close like I want it without it squeaking while I'm driving and if I hit a bump it'll squeak very annoying Lol. Could you give me an idea on what to look at? I was thinking the tracks on the sides need greased.

pull the assembly out and pull the motor and gear box apart. There is a threaded collar with teeth on it that the motor drivers that moves a threaded shaft up and down. Most likely that collar is stripped. Its plastic.
