Trunk not closing without adjustments each time.

I have an 87 Iroc Z28 and my pull down motor for my trunk works perfectly fine, but everytime when it comes up i have to pull the motor forward a bit so that it latches on. Is their a fix for this?

If your plastic part is broken anywhere it could cause it to slip. I'd take out the motor and look it over. Hawk's has replacements:

Does the center of the hatch align with the side spoiler pieces or it is shifted forward?

When the motor comes back up it does not come forward all the way. It stays back a little too far

Sounds kind of like the nylon tracks that the latch slides in the track with might be missing/damaged. This would cause the hatch to flop back and forth towards the front of the car. Pull the plastic trim and check to see if the nylon bits are still in the tracks, if not, lonsal sells them.

Agreed with replacing the guides if they are broken. They are important in keeping the latch assy aligned and working properly. Here is a link to them on my web site:http://www.top-downsolutions.com/hat...o-or-firebird)
