T-top bag hooks
Does anyone have any or KNOW of a subistute I can use for the T-top hooks on an 87 Camaro for the T-top bag. I bought a replacement bag the CAR DID NOT COME WITH A BAG, and I got the bag from Camaro Central...with NO hooks...just velcro straps. Well the velcro when your trying to go thru the anchors on the bag side just keeps going thru the plastic and into the frame of the car or metal area. Its totally usless really and I need something I can thread the straps into and then HOOK it to the anchors in the back, the front ones are fine. Does anyone have extras, I'll pay you, and or know of an idea. Thanks

You mean the 2 screw black short "U" hooks that are about 1/4" tall?

I have a bag of them. Just pay for shipping.
You want 2 or 4?
I will see if I can find them tomorrow.

They weren't where I thought they were, so I have to check a few more places.
But I do have them. I will let you know ASAP.

Re: T-top bag hooks
I unfortunatley cant post pics bc the car is in the shop. But I will explain in detail. Okay so I bought these damn expensive T-bags from Camaro Central. They just come with straight velcro ends on them. So you slide the velcro tether thru the anchor points, there ARE 4 points in the car, two up front two in rear. Well the forward ones are easy bc I can get that damn flimsy tethers thru them...well the back one SMH...they dont bend well, and what happens is you go to point the tethers thru the anchors and they go like straight and DO NOT CURVE lol...so what happens is they actually go straight and BEHIND the plastic paneling, see what I mean? If you have 4 thats great, I can send you a check in the mail or w/e first then you can ship

Re: T-top bag hooks
OK then. I can take a picture of the hooks on my t-top straps if you want, so you can see what you are after, or even fabricate/modify something else to do the job.

Re: T-top bag hooks
Here's my '88 original. Those hooks are sewn into the strap quite securely. If you have to sew your own on, but sure to get a machine that can do it right. Those straps are all that stands between you and having two heavy sheets of glass flying around the interior in an accident.

Yeah that's not an issue, I actually sew quite a bit and have strong thread...no man likes to brag about there sewing skills, but I guarantee I can get it to be better and stronger sew than the factory lol. I sew for my aviation job, it has to be right

Re: T-top bag hooks
Haha yeah its actually in the Army, I work on helicopters, and maintain survival flight gear as an "additional duty" on top of my mechanic job. They sometimes refer to me as the "Stitch B***h" haha. I like it though, its kinda relaxing sewing. The sewing machine is older than our Camaros and Pontiacs tho!

Re: T-top bag hooks
Cool that you have the skills to do the job yourself. Sounds like you should be a custom upholstery guy!
Factory hardware would be nice. Have you checked with Hawks, thirdgenranch, the parts forum here, etc?
