Steering wheel

I am replacing my factory steering wheel to a Grant one. I have a 91 Z28. When I pulled the factory one off, apparently where the horn connection was is broken. I want to connect the horn on the new steering wheel. I dont know all the terminology but its a spring that fits down inside to this connector and two plastic "tips" lock it in. Well.... those are broken off so it wont stay in place any longer. Guessing this must be why my
Horn didnt wirk all the time.. can you just glue it into place or whats the easiest option here? Not sure how to even get that center part off to replace if you even can. Thanks!

Re: Steering wheel

Sounds like a busted cancel cam. Dorman Help! or Needapart, whatever. Local parts store.

Re: Steering wheel

That happened once to my 91 S10 Blazer Sport,........ busted tabs/collar on the cancel cam !! Pretty sure that I pushed the horn wire down - in place on the cancel cam - and then stuff matchsticks, toothpicks, or something like that , around the horn wires plastic shield until the thing wouldn't move.

It stayed like that ( working fine ) for years until I junked the truck.

Replace the Cancel Cam - or HACK it---- Gotta' have a working horn !
