remove shift ****?
How do you remove the shift ****? has pulled and twists, nothing happens. Is there a magic trick, grateful for the help

Pull the button out. Down in there you will see a circlip with holes on the ends for you to place the pointed ends of your circlip pliers in to compress and remove it with. Ball then comes freely up from the shaft.
Don't twist it , you could break off a locating tab that keeps the **** from spinning. You'll see when it comes off what I mean
