Info needed on dash removal.

Hi, I have a bad radio bass switch on the dash that I would like to replace. (87 Formula). I have looked at the service manual and did a through search in this forum, could not find anything.
Does anyone know what I have to remove to get at the bass slider switch? Would there be a video on this somewhere. I have searched to no avail.

Thanks in advance,

Louis

In post #4 the top gauge bezel is the 85-89 style. Note the screw holes across the bottom and the top, you'll need to remove that entire panel. Anything covering those screws needs to be removed first.
It's been more than a few years since I've messed with and early car, I don't remember if the lower trim panel on the driver's side needs to come off, or if you can just remove the foglight switch panel... But anyway, that's the gist of it.

Hi Drew, thanks for the info. Also a question. On the top dash panel in the post you speak of, on the bottom there appears to be what looks like an oval light lens.

I have that also, however if there is a bulb in mine, it does not work. What is the function of the lens?

Louis

Re: Info needed on dash removal.

Ash tray light. The one in my 86 TA was bright as hell. To the point that it was a bit distracting. I'm thinking that it's not a regular bulb either, more like the light that shines on the headlight switch. For that matter it might be a permanent part of the dash hull.

The peg circled in red is the actual light.
