hatch switch

ever since I changed my automatic to a t56 my hatch switch will not work. It works at the rear with the key.I was told that since I changed my neutral safety switch to the clutch pedal the computer thinks it is in gear and will not let the switch work. There is a green wire coming off the latch switch that I put a ground to (wrong thing to do) the switch worked for a few seconds and then melted the wire.So I unhooked it and repaired the wire. Does anyone know where that green wire goes? I also seen a relay in the console so I replaced that to still no work HELP It is a 92 z28

Re: hatch switch

First things first, pull the E-brake and try it. If it doesn't work, You need to extend the tan/blk wire to the e-brake switch.

Re: hatch switch

When I swapped mine, I had to do the same thing. Now the e-brake lever has to be pulled so the hatch switch will function.

Re: hatch switch

Yeah, the switch is a simple grounding switch that grounds out when the Parking brake is pulled and the switch is pressed. Just to check the functionality you should be able to pull the switch off and ground it and pop the hatch.
