Need help installing whole dashboard 1987 Camaro

Bought a 1987 Camaro that was basically a project for the previous owner. Everything was removed from the cab except the sterring column and the wiring harness.
I have all the parts and screws but I need a step by step on how to install it. Any videos or diagrams or just personal experience instructions would be amazing.

I bought this car for my dad who owned one when I was a kid. I really want to restore it for him as a gift for being an amazing dad. Please help me do this for him!

The best thing you can do is get a 1986 Camaro Assembly Manual and a 1987 Camaro factory service manual with the electrical supplement (two book set).

The assembly manual will show you were stuff goes, not so much step by step, you'll have to figure that out yourself. However, keep in mind that the assembly manual may not be accurate in depicting the final released assembly configuration. But it'll be pretty close.

The service manual and supplement will have the color coded wiring diagrams, etc. Ebay will probably be the best place to get either. Bishko has the service manual on CD-ROM (http://www.autobooksbishko.com/index.html)

The second thing is to consider making this a father/son project.

If you have a pick-your-part type salvage yard nearby, you can go there and pay the $5 entrance fee and literally take them apart to see how it all goes together. Some times it's already taken apart and you can get your hands on it.

This would be my suggestion, as well. If I recall correctly, the A/C box and such goes in first. I would see if your local pick n pull has one with the dash out, but still has the A/C. Take that apart and you are golden. There really is no substitute for the experience you will gain there.
You could also find a parts car with a complete interior. Buy that and you will not only get the experience, but will also have spare parts, and I promise you, you'll need them.
I can also say that, if you are building this for your awesome Dad, then he's pretty lucky to have an awesome son. Very cool!

Thanks man I took your advice and asked my dad for help, I thought it was a long shot because he lives in a different state then me, but because of this whole covid-19 thing he has a lot of time. So he's going to be headed here soon so we can work on the dash together! Thanks for all the help

Right on! I'm sure he will enjoy working on it with you. I love it when my son (BigBadBirdie on this site) works on cars with me. Just a fun Father/Son thing, and a true rite of passage.
