Crumbling interior help!

Hi guys

I recently noticed when I drive with my t tops off on my 82 pace car, I am blinded by some sort of grainy textured dirt that gets in my eyes. It is a little lighter colored than dirt but almost the texture of sand. I thought it was my headliner and I vacuumed it out thoroughly but that didnt help. I also removed my sun visors as they were also in bad shape and crumbling on the inside but I still get something in my eyes when driving. It also gets onto the dash and a thin layer accumulates really quick so I have to wipe the dash after every drive with the t tops off. Please let me know what you think it could be.

Thanks!

With the tops off there is a lot more wind so it could be your headliner deteriorating or the adhesive

Also could be tiny chunks of the foam stuff in the HVAC system or top of dash pad. Every old GM I’ve had has done that, typically more noticeable when blasting the AC or heat. If the color is lighter like orange or yellow I’d say headliner but if the color is black or dark grey it’s the stuff I mentioned.
