Suck with interior tear down. Help...
Suck with interior tear down. Help...
Can't get the dome light housing off. I have no idea how this thing comes off. I have taken off everything else (except for the headliner obviously.
Any help would be very useful (!) The reason I am tearing down the interior is for some customizing and to save the carpet from the painters!

Take off the lens, then there is only 1 screw or bolt that you have to take out. Also hold onto the headliner while unscrewing, you dont want the liner snapping in half
It's definitely clips. It should have the small circular push type clips w/small teeth on them. Just use a small needle nose on them and pull them right off--usually they can't be re-used.

You can re-use the clips but I'd suggest getting new ones also. I just replaced my headliner and while I thought the old clips were still good I bought a 5 pack for a whopping $1.85. When I put the new ones on I couldn't believe how tight they were. The old ones I could put on with finger strength, the new ones required pliers.
