Ignition lock lever delete or disable?

Is there a way to delete or disable this silly lever? The one that you must push down to turn the key all the way to the lock position. It annoys me every time I turn my car off and I already have the column partially apart to replace the lock cylinder.

Re: Ignition lock lever delete or disable?

I know your not gonna be happy with the answer , but , , , , that lever is like the third part you install in the top of the column when building one from scratch , meaning that you'd have to take your column apart to the level seen in this pic to delete the lever .

(The "cutaway" view in the pic is not mine , I shamelessly "borrowed" it from a column rebuild tutorial that for some reason I can't seem to link here)

.

PS , even though the tutorial isn't mine , I used it when I totally rebuilt my tilt column due to a stripped "stub shaft" and the info is spot on , enjoy
