Alcantera trimmed interior

Anybody seen Firebird interior plastics and console trimmed out with Alcantera? Kind of unsure how this would look. Don't want to end up pimp by accident.

I also have a friend that's been dabbling with carbon fiber wrap. I thought it was stupid at first but I have to admit it looks pretty good in some cases.

Re: Alcantera trimmed interior

Member morrow just mentioned that he had done this with his. I'm anxious to see some pictures and maybe some tips on doing it, as I plan to recover mine in the stuff.

Re: Alcantera trimmed interior

I have no doubt it classes up a Camaro interior. Replacing carpeted panels with Alcantera is a huge upgrade. Firebird is maybe a bit different though.

I don't know, seems pretty cheap compared to go-fast mods.

Re: Alcantera trimmed interior

Alcantara will last a lot longer than real hide suede tho, so worth it. I always spray mine with stain and moisture protectant (especially my steering wheel) and I have a proper suede brush for maintenance.

I'm in the middle of doing black Alcantara and black vinyl with red stitching in my 69 Firebird. It's easy to do too much of just Alcantara. On my 92 GTA, I wouldn't do it because of all the leather the interior already has. But if it were a cloth interior car, I'd do it. Also depends on color.

Below is a pic of my custom Recaros I just had done, to give you an idea of the theme I'm going with....easy since my 1st gen started as an all-black interior anyway. Would also look good in a black interior 3rd gen tho!

Seats look sweet. Is just the middle Alcantara? The sides look different - leather maybe?

Vinyl. I'm doing a combination of black Alcantara and black vinyl throughout my entire interior. I'm intentionally avoiding any real hide suede/leather that requires more maintainence.
