Mouse poop and pee

So I’m finally gonna get to work on my 86 trans am after 3 moves and getting a garage. However it’s lived mostly outside under a tarp for the last 2 years and when I uncovered it I was in for a stinky surprise

poop....poop everywhere and I’m assuming pee as well, so much so it started to rust through the floor.

there is no carpet or much of an interior except for the dash and headliner, but I’ve left it opened and it still smells so bad I still almost throw up. What can I do I’ve looked at adams polish car bomb, but there’s so little fabric in that car that I don’t know if it will work. I’ve thought of sand blasting and repainting the floor but I don’t k ow if that would work.

Vacuum, then use a cleaner that's designed for urine to neutralize it, and then I'd probably scrub it out again with a generic cleaner like simple green or whatever you have. Headliner might need replacement.

Wear respiratory protection, hantavirus is a concern.

I didn’t even think about the respirator I’m so used to wearing just a mask and didn’t think much about it.

also I didn’t even think of the neutralizing urine, I’ve got tons of that thanks to my cats

What he said. You also want to pull out any of the plastic in the interior, because they have got behind it too. I guarantee that they got up in the dash also. I would take the top off and bottom panels (even take out ecm and get in there like you were going to change the heater core) because there is probably a nice home up in your ducting, etc. After you get to work and have it all cleaned out, I would use something like Lysol wipes to reclean afterwards (this is what I had to do-pics are even in a thread on here somewhere). Then definitely get to the rust spots and ground them down and repaint. After all was cleaned and repaired, I had no trace of a smell or anything, but I also put in a brand new interior (except the plastics in the rear-top to bottom).
