Insulation mat

I am replacing my carpet and was wondering if people remove or replace the firewall pad. I know its used to keep heat out but the original owner removed the ac box in the engine bay and did not cover the hole for maybe 4 years. I installed a s10 heater box and since then I have removed the carpet to put all black deluxe interior in my car. By the way the dash is out of the car at the moment.

Re: Insulation mat

I believe @QwkTrip did. The pad definitely helps keeping the heat out, so it's worth keeping (or replacing).
