Re: help me get my ac box fully out im suck

If my memory serves correctly those are all studs running into the interior with a wing nut type of deal attached, search hard, there all under the dash, some behind the carpet/padding.

It looks like your not afraid to cut things, If you dont want to go through the hassle just cut the remaining pieces off, I dont think it will do any harm.

Wow... takin' the hammer to it, eh?

The rest of the screws are on the passenger side of the firewall on the interior. You need to pull back the carpet and the insulation padding to get to them. Not really hard to find.

Theres i beleive 3 screws, as mentioned above. Ill take some pix when i get home and post them. Pull back the carpet on the passenger side, they are the only bolts that size, unbolt all,and it'll come free.

Re: help me get my ac box fully out im suck

^ Remember, there are four bolts that hold the underside of the A/C box from inside of the car (when you install the non-A/C heater box, you'll only be re-using three of them). Just pull the carpet up a tad on the passenger side, and you'll see that they immediately become prevalent. Use a 10mm socket w/extension....

The ones inside are actually loads easier to get to then the ones outside. Like other said, 10mm, and they are silver w/ rather large washers, iirc. They stand out pretty well when you pull the carpet back.

or just cut them off like I did. though I always prefered the direct approach.

Non-A/C box went in just fine without them.

Not really. It's stupid that people are destroying these boxes because they're too lazy to figure out how to take it out.

Re: help me get my ac box fully out im suck

well guys i got it all done and it looks good , really good. I got my fiberglass ac delete box out that someone on here made for me a while ago . I reused my ac blower and blades. I cut the blades down so they would fit and did it all up , cut the old plugs off and hid the wires . You would never know their was ac except for the condensor which ill take out when i put a new engine in.
