Anyone swapped a 92 steering wheel for an eddy w/ adapter?
Greetings all. I picked up an eddy steering wheel and their adapter from hawks:
https://www.hawksmotorsports.com/bil...rn-cap-for-gm/
Now I see everyone pretty much uses grant wheels, as there's zero install instructions or diagrams or anything I can find on the internet for an Eddy into a '92!
I pulled the 92 wheel off with the bag and all, and now I'm trying to figure out how much should remain. Does the 'coil' thing that was behind the old wheel need to stay? I cannot find the use for it after removing the stock wheel other than to take up space. The adapter definitely wont sit down over that area as its threaded for the fine toothed wheel portion not the wide tooth shaft portion of the column.
Also it looks like my horn wire plastic retainer with the spring is broken, maybe new it had some kind of press down and sideways action to hold it in there, now there's nothing. I don't think I can just leave it wedged in there as I don't think this adapter would put enough pressure on it to keep it in there, or would it?
Any experience greatly appreciated!
